So I didn't fail. That was good. I think I might actually do relatively well. Thank you to everyone who offered me support yesterday~ ILU F-LIST ♥

So on that note:

MODEL UN WAS UNBELIEVABLY STUPID. I seriously can't believe I prepared a whole semester to do this. Out of the nine original resolutions, we discussed a grand total of THREE. We spent two hours debating the first resolution, less than half an hour on the fourth resolution, and FIVE, that's right, FIVE hours discussing the second resolution. It was mediocre to begin with and didn't need to be debated through the lunch period. Seriously--after the first hour, they just started making the same inquiries and trying to amend the same clauses. The actual debate got very stale very quickly, so we ended up all "caucusing" in the back (pulling out our gameboys and swapping poke'mon). Didn't really miss much. =/

I'm still a bit miffed that my resolution wasn't chosen to be brought onto the floor--it addressed the exact same issues with the substandard of international education...just better worded and more concise. >=| BUUUUT anyway. There were probably close to a dozen amendments passed and at the end, we didn't even adopt the resolution. Even the author voted against it at the end. They completely butchered it and so many of the amendments contradicted each other. ...urgh. It was just a mess.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the procedure, when it comes time to vote on adopting a resolution, you can either vote yes, yes with rights, no, no with rights, abstain, or abstain from the order. It's pretty self-explanatory for the most part, but "with rights" means that you have the floor for a limited amount of time to present your reasoning for your vote. Ukraine's vote was seriously the highlight of my day. "This resolution now contradicts itself so many times that I wouldn't go near it with a twenty-foot pole." Oh god I think I died of internal combustion from laughing. Hey, international politics can have a sense of humor! 8DDb

At least I didn't fall asleep.

...Heather was pretty much the only thing keeping me interested in this season of ANTM. I like Jenah too because her eyes are big and pretty, but I seriously thought she was getting booted tonight 'cause of the way they portrayed her attitude. Selective editing anyone? It was very CariDee. But I guess the elimination was fair since Heather completely flunked on the go-sees and that's, uh, kind of important. =/ None of the girls left really interest me. Now the only thing that'll keep me watching the show is Beijing. I was born there and I haven't seen it in almost eight years, so I'm looking forward to it. ♥

Uh...in other news. I didn't know that K-Bell was the voice of Gossip Girl. oAo;; I'm not a huge fan of her overacting, but she does a great voice-over. Skipped the rest of the episode to work on my project, though. =|

I swear, turkey haunts my dreams now. oAo;; I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving ♥ Everyone who celebrates it, anyway. xP If not, then I hope you're having a good weekend. xDD

So on Friday, my parents and I went shopping and I got the first two seasons of House on DVD *A* OH HO HO~♥ ♥ I spent such a long time at the GameStop, seriously considering getting a PSP so I can play Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology and the bazillion Final Fantasy games, but in the end I didn't. u_u They have to be less than two-hundred for me to buy it, srsly. If it came to that, I would have just gotten a Wii instead. xD

Then I went to go see Enchanted with a couple of my girlfriends. Seriously, I have not seen such a charming movie in SUCH a long time. DISNEY MAKES GOOD MOVIES AGAIN REJOICE!! \o/ Disney does a good job of poking fun at itself without losing its dignity. The musical portion was hysterical, and I really want the soundtrack now. o/ Let's see...they parodied Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, a bit of the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast, and...King Kong. Yeah, random. But in a lovely way. They casted everything perfectly. Patrick Dempsey was a damsel in distress. 8D I haven't seen that one before. AND IDINA MENZEL!! *A* -fangasm- Holyshit she was so great, even though she was in a relatively minor role. All of us being RENT-heads, we were screaming when she came on and everyone behind us shushed us. It was great :'D I saw Michaela Conlin too, so I gasped loudly and obnoxiously.

...and having now just finished downloading the soundtrack, I'm watching the music video for Ever Ever After and LOL they animated Carrie Underwood. xDD The music video is very charming too. ...Just...the whole thing is CHARMING. Seriously. Go see it--it's a wonderful film, really. Maybe I'll upload a couple of tracks to share the sheer amazingness ♥ ♥

After reading my f-list, it seems that everyone is getting snow where they are except me. xDD GDDMMIT I WANT SOME SNOW. ENOUGH SNOW SO THAT SCHOOL WILL BE CANCELED TOMORROW AND I'LL HAVE A SIX-DAY THANKSGIVING WEEKEND. \o/

...har har, like that's ever gonna happen. xP I really do want some snow, though. It just makes everything seem less...wintry. I know that sounds contradictory, but snow = warm, fuzzy feelings for me. For the first three days, anyway. Then I start longing for summer.

For our final project in International Relations this year, our class will be partnering with Invisible Children though Schools for Schools to help raise money to rebuild schools in Northern Uganda, a cause that has become incredibly close to my heart. We'll be selling tee-shirts and bracelets, as well as organizing school-wide events to raise awareness and generate donations. Our goal is $20,000. That may seem like a lofty amount, but according to my calculations, if every student in my school donated seven dollars, we would have made it no problem. If you all can, I totally encourage you to get your school involved too--this is a great cause and you'll feel good knowing that you've changed someone's life.

ANYWAY. I have decided that I am completely OVER this. I don't need this kind of stuff in my life right now as my life is going just fine. I'm happy, I have my friends who really and truly care about me, and I am ready to shave off the extra baggage. o/ Seriously. I haven't felt this good in a long time. See, I'm the kind of person who resists change in situations like these because at heart, I am a people-pleaser. It's just that I don't seem to think enough about myself these days. So once I did, all the weight just kind of...fell off. And that's good.

So to celebrate, I made some D.Gray-Man icons. 8DD ~~HAY 'SUP I'M THE GIRL WHO'S ONLY READ UP TO THE SECOND VOLUME. orz my dad is on another business trip to Minnesota this week. ... This is, like, his second trip in a month in all six years he's been working with my parents' company. Why are they suddenly sending him on business trips? He better get a big fat bonus for it. =|

And my IR schedule has apparently just been moved up from the 30th to the 20th. Which means that everyone is suddenly behind by approximately a week. Oh geez. At this rate, I'll have to send out my resolutions and figure out a country to form a treaty with by tomorrow. I hate this. Seriously.

See, I had this best friend named Jennifer when I was in grade school, but we went our separate ways in middle school and she eventually moved to California. It's been about four years since we've communicated, and then today, I'm browsing around Facebook and HOLY SHI--THERE SHE IS.

So we reconnected and it's freakishly uncanny how alike we became, even though we were half a country away. We're both cosplayers, graphics designers, and just..geez. xD I'm amazed. Life is funny that way, I think, and that people you're meant to know you'll meet with again. ♥ ♥

But srsly. This is a hot-button topic debate at our school right now. 83 So for those of you who don't know (that would be the majority of the world ♥), the state of Illinois has recently made a "moment of silence" mandatory for all public schools, in which we must all spend a minute of time in complete silence. It's called the "Student Silence and Prayer Act" or something of that nature and it's causing quite a stir. The purpose is "to allow students a moment each school day to pray, or otherwise to reflect." Something to that effect, anyway. A lot of the students in my school are really upset about it. I'm quite indifferent to the whole thing myself, although I do believe that it's not constitutional. I'm not religious, and so I don't pray, but I stay silent to respect those who do. It's the same thing as standing up and saying the Pledge of Allegiance each day. I'm not much of a nationalist, but again, I do respect the people who are and stand up with them without compromising my beliefs by placing my hand over my heart and saying the Pledge. It's not that hard to find the middle ground, seriously. xD

But anyway. In other news, I have to write a letter to some important government official "identifying an issue within a social or natural community that leads to a significant problem" and then eventually "arriving at a solution to that problem and persuading the audience to take action." Sooooo. I'm doing illegal immigration. My favorite debate topic liekevar. If you ever need any information on it, I'm a freaking encyclopedia. ~~I'm completely anti-Amnesty by the way, so only if you're looking for information against it. xP~~

Anyway. So I'm gonna go back to writing my letter now. And tomorrow I have a double-sweet sixteen for two of my best friends, and then a minicon for JSA, so I prolly won't be home 'till mid-afternoon on Saturday. Just...so you know. I promise I'll check my f-lists later tonight so I'll at least be up to date for a little while.

-coughcough- So I've decided that I'm going to work harder this quarter than I did last quarter because I really want to keep my grade up and get my parents to not lecture me for a week, which would be h-e-a-v-e-n. I think that the reason I was slacking off early in the year was because I mentally hit a rough spot and now that I'm over it, I really need to get with the program. MY CONVICTIONS ARE STROOOOOOOONG \o/

So yeah. Out of my teacher's five chemistry classes, I was the only one to score 100% on my quarter final~! That brought my grade up about four percent, which is awesome, and strangely, the highest grade I have out of all my core classes right now is in Advanced Algebra, which was, up until now, my worst subject. OAO;; Go figure. I must now raise my Enriched Written grade up another three percent! I'm, in all honesty, probably not going to make that A for International Relations, though. u_u I seriously screwed myself over by getting C's on two unit tests and then putting off my Security Unit until two hours before the deadline. Though I did get everything in, at least. I'm straddling the border pretty close right now with...like...a 91% and out of all my weighted classes, this one's near the top anyway. So I hope I'll be able to make it up by working extra hard on the Economic and Sustainable Development units. And NOT fail the next unit test because I was stupid and decided not to study. And still going strong with a 98% in French~ at this rate, I'll be able to get into the Honors track for French next year 8Db

NOW. On a subject other than school. My mom and I were playing around yesterday because my dad's on a business trip to Minnesota until Friday ~~I wanted to go T_T six-hour road trip sounds like heaven ♥~~ and decided to taste some of the hot peppers one of her best friends gave her. They grow them in their ginormous garden, and without exaggerating, the peppers were about three-bajillion degrees. Oh sure, it tasted fine going down, but just like she warned us, we ended up crying in front of the TV together for about two hours because our insides were burning. And I swear. This was last night. I can still taste it. I swear, my tongue will be tingling for the rest of my life. ;;
