RUFUS WAINWRIGHT ZOMG.

THERE JUST ARE NO WORDS. He sounds even better live than he does in the studio. Absolutely amazing.

Fast-forward about an hour and a half for the encore since most of his songs were from "Release the Stars," which makes sense 'cause it IS the "Release the Stars" tour, but I don't yet have that CD so I didn't recognize most of the songs. I'm hurried to get it now, though; it sounds just as good, if not better, than his earlier releases. I swear, I could listen to him forever.

Anyway, so for the encore, Rufus begins by singing "Complainte de la Butte" (which makes my neighbor spazz because it's her favorite song). And then this happens. My favorite part was probably his band doing the slightly-off-kilter choreography in the back, which just enhanced how wonderfully ludicrous the whole act was. (Here it is at another angle.)
